CUSTOM CAST BRONZE TROPHIES

Plaxx Custom Awards is proud of it's reputation as a provider of custom one of a kind recognition awards. One of our specialty areas is the creation of unique cast trophies.

The process of designing and casting a trophy involves the efforts of many craftspeople including; graphics designers, modelers, casters, polishers and others.

This is the first step in the creation of a custom cast trophy. It is the production of a scaled blueprint showing the shape and all details of the finished product. PLAXX prepares this drawing and then presents it to the customer for approval.

The next step in bringing the trophy to life is the creation of a full size clay model. This model will be used in the creation of the casting mold so every detail of the finished trophy must be 100% accurate. To assure this accuracy, extra time is spent by the modeler on small details.

The final step is finishing. The metal can be 'rubbed' to a matte or gloss finish. A wire wheel and buffer are used with progressively finer compounds until the desired finish is achieved.

The process of creating a custom cast trophy of the style can take between 4 and 6 months depending upon the level of detail required and the number of proofs required until the design is finalized. Many of our cups in the 24 to 36 inch sizes cost between $20,000 to $30,000 for the first cup and between $5,000 and $10,000 for additional copies. There are so many factors affecting the total cost, it is necessary to discuss your needs with a graphics artist at PLAXX before a quotation can be provided.
